Respiratory Care
Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program at Blessing-Rieman
Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences offers a joint Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care program in partnership with Quincy University. The program allows you to learn the skills needed to provide therapeutic and diagnostic services to patients with heart and lung disorders.
Students:
- Complete respiratory care pre-requisite courses and general education courses at Quincy University.
- Begin respiratory courses as well as clinical experiences on the Blessing-Rieman College Campus the sophomore year.
- Practice skills at our Simulation Center.
- Complete over 900 hours of hands-on clinical experiences
Admissions Requirements:
Freshmen need:
- 22 ACT/1100 SAT or higher, or pass the HESI Admissions Assessment (A2) exam
- Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Transfers need:
- 22 ACT/1100 SAT or higher, or pass the HESI Admissions Assessment (A2) exam
- Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Support Course GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Completion of the following pre-requisites: English Composition I, General Psychology, Child/Development Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology I and II.

Begin by submitting the following materials to QU:
- QU school application and BRCN application
- Official high school transcripts
- Official ACT or SAT scores
Once accepted at the QU, BRCN will review your file and grant you an acceptance. Students will take general education pre-requisite courses at QU. After successfully completing the freshman year, you will start respiratory classes and clinical experiences the sophomore year at Blessing-Rieman. The Respiratory Care Program is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and
provisionally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
